What ARE RIVER PADDLES?

A River Paddle involves travelling from point A to point B downstream on a River.  

We love river paddles as they allow us to enjoy more of the river as we travel along looking for wildlife and enjoying the different flora and fauna. 

A STUNNING JOURNEY ALONG THE RIVER WYE

Once you have learnt the basics of SUP and feel confident standing this is a fantastic next step on your journey to enjoying paddle boarding and improving your SUP skills.

What to expext from Your RIVER PADDLE?

  • Pickup Redbrook 
  • Welcome and paddle briefing. 
  • Begin our journey to Redbrook.

Monmouth - redbrook

Float down the river from Monmouth to Redbrook. 

We will paddle under beautiful old bridges, pause on the beach and enjoy a spot of wild swimming.  

We will meet in Redbrook and be driven back to Monmouth where we will begin the river paddle. This means you can leave when you are ready at the end of the trip.

We will end our trip in Redbrook where you can enjoy a drink by the river at the beautiful Boat Inn.

WHO ARE THE river paddles FOR?

1. some sup experience

  • These river paddles are for people who feel confident standing on a paddle board.  
  • Once the river paddle begins it will be difficult to stop and get off the water if you decide you no longer want to paddle. 
  • You need to feel confident you can control your board on a moving river. If you are not sure join us for a lesson first. 

2. FAMILIES / ADULTS / SMALL GROUPS

  • These trips are for, individuals, families, friends and small groups. If you have a large group check out our large group page.
  • We have plenty of people turn up on their own so don’t be afraid we will welcome you along and be there to cheer you on.
  • We have a minimum age of 14 unless booking as a private group.

wHAT YOU NEED TO BRING?

  • Swimsuit and loose clothing to paddle in  
  • Change of clothes 

  • Water shoes / trainers you don’t mind getting wet – these must cover the toes and attach to the foot – not flipflops. 

  • Money for a drink and parking in Redbrook

  • Towel

We use Fanatic Premium stand up paddle boards. Fanatic is one of the leading brands in paddle boards and will provide you with a stable ride giving you the best chance to stand up.

We use Palm and Yak buoyancy aids and have a mixture of sizes to ensure you have the perfect fit. 

3. we take safety seriously

Safety is our number one priority. We have strict paddle procedures to ensure you will be getting on the water safely and can enjoy your experience to the max.

All our instructor are WSA or British Canoeing qualified.
